Batteries are out, solar-powered wireless keyboard is in

Wireless keyboards batteries going flat is one of the most common problems keyboard owners have. They cause hassle which is totally inconvenient for users. But thanks to this new innovation from Logitech, it seems to be that we can now say goodbye to that.

Logitech has just announced the release of Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750, which is now considered as the “next big innovation in keyboard technology”.

Logitech K750 has integrated solar panels to charge its batteries whenever and wherever there is light available. For a more hassle-free convenience, it does not need any power bricks or charging cables to power itself. A solar power application is now available for download in Logitech’s official website. The said the application shows how much charge is left in the batteries which shows if the keyboard is receiving sufficient amount of light for charging and gives easy and at-a-glance information on battery levels with alerts when more power is needed. It can be powered by indoor light (artificial light sources such as lamps) and can stay charged for at least three months in total darkness.

Aside from being solar-powered, Logitech K750 has brought more to the table. It is only 1/3 inch thick, with rounded edges and thin profile. It also features Logitech Incurve keys that support the shape of the user’s fingertips through its concave design and soft, rounded edges. This becomes a helping guide to the fingers to the right keys and makes it easier for the fingers to move smoothly and easily from key to key. Indeed, this streamlined keyboard looks sleek and stylish.

K750 also offers Logitech Advanced 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity that enables powerful, reliable connection. In addition, an 128-bit AES encryption, one of the highest levels of security available, is included.

Batteries of wireless keyboards and the hassles it bring can now be a thing of the past. We can now say hello to a more convenient option. All battery products for similar laptops, can be bought at A1 Battery Pro and other leading retailers.

Wireless Computers: The way of the future

Remember the days when your computer monitor took up the majority of space on your desk? The hard drive took about 30 minutes to boot, and the amount of cords flowing in and out of mysterious plugs and jacks was enough to confuse Bill Gates himself. Remember? Of course you remember, because in reality that technology, which seems almost prehistoric by today’s standards, has only been done away with really over the last five years or so. Computers today are a far more attractive machine, with some companies actually producing computer designs that can act as a feature peice in your living room. Flat screen monitors, tiny unnoticeable hard drives, and of course, wireless capabilities!

Take these computers for example. They’re small, light weight, and require almost no cords whatsoever in order to work. I don’t know about you, but this makes these models incredibly attractive from my point of view. Is it just me? Clearly I find anything wireless to be incredibly interesting, that’s why I operate this blog, am I the only one? I doubt it, cords are one of the most annoying features on any product, especially computers. I mean, how on earth do they become so tangled? You plug them in, leave them untouched for weeks and then, somehow, when you return they’ve managed to tangle themselves inexplicably! Surely wireless technologies have lifted a great burden on the whole of society, not just me.

Anyway, getting back to wireless computers, I find the inclusion of wireless technology in computers to be one of the most enjoyable experiences. It’s really changed the way we use computer systems, and especially the internet. Even the laptops of 5 years ago wouldn’t really allow the user to just connect to the web from anywhere in the house. Sure the computer itself might have been mobile, but in order to browse you had to be within reach of a phone line, and you also had to keep one eye on the cord itself to make sure no one tripped over it. These days you can browse the web from anywhere in the house with the simple click of a button. I don’t know about you, but I think that’s pretty life changing!

Wireless GPS Systems a Great help to Coal Mine Rescue Training

If there was ever an industry that could benefit from recent advancements in wireless GPS, it’s the members of the coal mine training and rescue services run by Coal Services Pty Ltd (CSPL). So, it’s no surprise that CSPL has just signed a $150 000 contract that will see the instalment of wireless GPS devices on every one of their graduates. As you can imagine, this comes as a great relief to both the coal mine rescuers and their families alike.

The device that will be offered to all rescuers is the GPS Finda 3120, designed and developed especially for the mine rescue industry by American based company WSAZ. Specialised features include an increased battery life, which can last up to four weeks longer than other GPS devices should a rescuer become trapped for an extended period of time. It also emits a signal that is 5x stronger than normal, and can be received through incredibly dense material at up to 1000 meters.

Obviously, the importance of the wireless technology plays a huge part in the success of this device, as it may need to maintain a clear signal for long periods of time, and will not be able to be connected to a power source for recharging. Once again this is a fine example of the way in which wireless technology is helping to make great strides in all aspects of industry, and indeed general human development as a whole.

Wireless Printers: What’s next, Wireless Ink Cartridges?

These days everything is going wireless. From your home phone to your internet, your gaming controllers to your computer headsets, annoying cords are increasingly becoming a thing of the past. Perhaps one of the lesser known appliances to recently meet this modern standard is the household computer printer. In this article Wireless Cabin will review 3 of the most popular wireless printers, ranging in price from the least expensive to the top of the line models, to see which of these puppies is going to meet your needs best.

1. The Cannon MP490 All-in-One Printer. RRP $112au

They call this model the All-in-One for a reason. It basically does everything you could ask it to do within reason considering the price tag. Cannon’s really done a great job of jamming features into this machine and the results are just what you’d expect; it’s a great printer for the home, it can handle pretty much anything you need it to, and the price is affordable. What more could you want?

2. The HP 110V MAINTKT LJ 4200 RRP $450au

I’ll tell you what more you could want. Providing you’re willing to pay a little extra you could want the HP 110V MAINTKT LJ 4200! While it’s true that this model is around 4x the price of the MP490, it’s also about 4x more powerful, and about 4x faster than its lesser-priced competitor. I guess what you’ve got to ask yourself is this ‘do I need to produce high quality prints in less than 5 seconds flat per page?’, if the answer is yes then this is the printer for you.

3. The Lexmark Platinum PRO905 INKJETPR-WLS 33PPM COL P/C/S/F (90T9005) RRP $469au

The most impressive thing about this fantastic little printer by Lexmark (aside from the length of the model number), is that although it’s around the same price as the HP110V, it’s able to do so much more. It even includes a 4.3” LCD touch screen that guides you through the printing process with attractive and colourful buttons. You can also create your own custom jobs online and print right from the web. The only problem we faced with this printer is that the Lexmark ink cartridges seem to be incredibly hard to get your hands on! Fortunately, following the above link will direct you to the stockist who was eventually able to help us out with this frustrating turn of affairs.

Well there you have it, the Wireless Cabin wireless printer extravaganza! We hope you’ve get all the information you need to make an informed opinion on which printer is going to be the right model for your needs. Adios amigos!
